It is with regret that we at Sparkshell.com inform the Bhangra/Punjabi world that singer Romey Gill has passed away in Ludhiana, Punjab. Liver failiure lead to the death of this outstanding singer who had a genuine unique voice. Romey was popular throughout Punjab with hits such as "Nehro Paar Bangla", "Jatt", "Jogiya Veh Jogiya" and many more. Romey became known worldwide with hits by Tigerstyle including "Dhol Vajda" and "Domeh Nachiyeh". Romey's voice was so appealing that he was recorded by Aman Hayer and featured on the smash hit Groundshaker 2 album with "Puch Bhabiye". Romey Gill was set to come to the UK with family on June 28th but now due to his untimely death, this will not be possible. Romey Gill's funeral took place today - June 24th 2009. Condolences go out to his family.
