Music Review: Toh Baat Pakki Rajeshwari, played by Tabu, is on a mission to find the most suitable boy in the community for her sister to wed. Her sister Nisha, played by Uvika Chaudry, is set up with Rahul, played by Sharman Joshi, and the two fall in love. In a perfect world this means 'Toh Baat Pakki' but the drama unfolds as the wedding preparations begin. So does Pritam give us a soundtrack with wedding tunes for this generation?

What We Think:
The soundtrack opens up on a Punjabi note as Mika sings "Jis Din." With the fun beat you can't help but dance to this one! The lyrics tell the story of love and marriage. The remixed version of "Jis Din" speeds up the catchy tune. "Phir Se" comes in three versions; Sonu Niigaam's, Rahet Fateh Ali Khan's, and a remix. The two original versions are purely sweet; Sonu and Rahet make the songs their own and we like them both. The remix seems unnecessary; no need to create a dance version of a sweet melody.

"Dil Le Jaa" is a fun tune with heavydhol beats and Punjabi masala which will catch on with listeners and the remix will certainly hit the charts. The soundtrack's last track, "Karle Mujhse Pyaar," has typcial Pritam rock vibe. It seems slightly out of place with the love songs and the Bhangra vibes, but it does add a new element. To no surprise the soundtrack includes a "Karle Mujhse Pyaar" remix which is a pure techno, dance number.

Just before we think the soundtrack ends, we hear "Aarti" sung by Antara Mitra, which is a quick number familiarly known as "Om Jai Jagdish." The song deserves an honorable mention for Antara's gorgeous voice.

Best Tracks:
"Jis Din"
"Dil Le Jaa (Remix)"

Final Verdict:
"Toh Baat Paaki" is a soundtrack with heavy Punjabi influences. The tracks will appeal to different demographics and we expect to see a song or two make it to the music charts.
